1. About these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Touch-A-Life Foundation (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization), which runs TALJobs at taljobs.org. By creating an account or posting a resume, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use TALJobs.
2. Who can use TALJobs
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- If you are under 18, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has read these Terms and agrees to you using TALJobs. They are responsible for your use of the service.
- TALJobs is designed for students (school, college and university, including master's programmes) and recent graduates in India and the USA.
- You may have only one account, and the information you give must be true and your own.
3. Your account
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email or phone, a password, or Google. Keep access to your email and phone secure, and never share your sign-in code — TALJobs staff will never ask for it. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away at support@touchalife.org if you think someone else has accessed it.
4. Your resume and content
You own your resume and profile. To run TALJobs, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, display and share your content as described in the Privacy Policy and according to your visibility settings — for example, showing your resume to employers when you make it visible. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account (except copies we must keep by law).
You promise that your content:
- is accurate and about you — no invented degrees, grades, jobs or skills;
- doesn't include other people's personal data without their permission;
- doesn't infringe anyone's copyright or other rights;
- isn't offensive, discriminatory, misleading or unlawful.
We may remove content that breaks these Terms.
5. Free for students
TALJobs is free for students and recent graduates. We never charge you to create an account, post a resume, apply for a role or get hired, and we don't allow employers to charge you either. If anyone asks you for money in TALJobs' name, it's a scam — read our safety tips and report it.
6. What TALJobs does — and doesn't do
TALJobs is a platform that helps students get discovered. We are not an employer, a recruitment or placement agency, or a labour contractor, and we don't guarantee interviews, jobs, internships or any particular outcome.
Employers and recruiters are responsible for their own listings, communications and hiring decisions. Always research an organisation before sharing personal documents or accepting an offer.
7. Acceptable use
When using TALJobs, you must not:
- impersonate anyone or create fake or duplicate accounts;
- scrape, copy or collect other users' data, by bots or otherwise;
- harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone;
- send spam, chain messages or unsolicited promotions;
- upload viruses or harmful files, or try to break, overload or bypass our security;
- use TALJobs for anything unlawful, or for any purpose other than genuine career opportunities.
8. Third-party services and links
TALJobs uses third-party services such as Google sign-in and may link to other websites. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we're not responsible for them.
9. Suspension and closing your account
You can stop using TALJobs and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, put other users at risk, or where the law requires it. Where reasonable, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
10. Our name and content
The TALJobs name, logo, design and site content (other than your content) belong to Touch-A-Life Foundation. You may not use them without our written permission.
11. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep TALJobs running smoothly, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we don't verify every employer or every piece of user content.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Touch-A-Life Foundation is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made by employers, recruiters or other users. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under laws that cannot be excluded, including consumer protection laws in India or the USA.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. If you live in India, you also keep the protections of Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
If something goes wrong, please contact us first — most issues can be fixed quickly. Users in India can raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see below).
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as TALJobs grows (for example, when employer features launch). We'll update the date at the top and tell you about significant changes before they take effect. If you keep using TALJobs after that, the new Terms apply.
